Dr. Molloy has been providing Custom Orthotics to his patients in Gander and the surrounding area for over 10 years. He continues to do regular continuing education in this area to be well versed in the newest options in custom orthotics and offering the best advise to his patients.
Not everyone requires a custom made orthotic and in a lot of cases after a thorough assessment it may be sufficient to recommend an ideal over the counter insert, educate the patient on proper footwear selection or review home based exercises and stretches for the particular condition.
Orthotics are useful for common biomechanical conditions such as overpronation, oversupination, as well as musculoskeletal conditions such as plantar fasciitis, achillies tendon problems, chronic ankle sprains, and metatarsalgia. Some of these conditions are treated even more effectively when combined with extracorporeal shockwave therapy.
Many different types of orthotics can be manufactured depending on which shoe you would like support for. Orthotics can be made for a variety of shoe wear including running, cross trainers, dress, golf, casual, work boots, skates, skis, and sandals.
For insurance purposes a referral for custom orthotics from your family doctor is required.
